Special Events/2009/20090615 - We're Moving!/20090616-140211-lx2-40668.jpg does not exist.
It's been a crazy few months -- both of us finding new jobs, looking for a house, selling our place to Eric, and ordering an off-road trailer. Phew! And the fun isn't over yet! :-) We're picking up the trailer at the end of the month, and haven't been able to insure it for the time between the import and registration dates -- we may end up taking our insurance through the manufacturer for the first month. :-) And then there's the house. Perfect... until it rained. We took ownership yesterday, and last night discovered some water coming into the basement. It took a visit from our inspector this evening to track down the culprit -- the large kitchen door / window. We think it might be an installation problem, which (fingers crossed) the installers can fix easily. Meanwhile we had an extensive alarm system installed this morning, and we're slowly moving our stuff in there. The big move happens this Sunday, followed by a BBQ a few weeks later. :-) Both of us are on vacation starting Friday, and will be knee deep in paint and boxes for several days to follow. :-)

Nice looking place!! Sure hope the water problem isn't too big an issue.
I don't think I have seen an off road trailer. Who makes it?

The owner is very responsive, so hopefully it'll work itself out shortly. It's a newly renovated house, so I guess things like this are to be expected.

I don't think I have seen an off road trailer. Who makes it?

Off-road / overland trailers are more popular in Africa and Australia -- there are a lot of excellent trailers overseas. Here in N. America we have a few manufacturers, but the selection is limited. Two really good ones are Adventure Trailers and Campa. We were considering an Adventure Trailers Chaser, but wanted an enclosed kitchen for those rainy / mosquito days. All the manufacturers are in the south-west, so rain isn't a big consideration for them. :-) We finally went with Campa -- it's the most expensive, but it's also the one which offers the most for such a small package. We posted a few build pictures on our public photo album, and there are two videos of Campa on YouTube. I can't access YouTube from work to post the links, but at least one comes up with a "Campa Rubicon" search.
